  8. Polish red pearl rice
  9. Grind our own wheat flour at the chakki
  10. Stand in queue for kerosene, sugar, rice and wheat
  11. Buy postage stamps, greeting cards, first day covers
  12. Repairs and maintenance of Primus & wick stoves
  13. Silencers for primus stores

How can we forget, Telegrams sending shivers down our spine

Postman was a friendly neighbourhood figure. Used to always drink water at our home
Milkman used to deliver milk at our doorstep and even sometimes add water in our presence to his pot if he had to give us extra for someone sick at home
