You can’t teach a child if you don’t:

  1. speak in a soft, gentle tone
  2. Use simple words
  3. Use lot of verbs
  4. Tell stories with happy endings
  5. Make eye contact
  6. Are not genuine. They pick up body language
  7. keep it short and interesting
  8. Repeat key words
  9. Repeat the story again, many times
  10. End with a Moral of the story. Even a child learns best when you go down to their level
  11. If appropriate, hold hands, give a warm hug, a kiss, a pat in the back, a twiggle to the nose, cheek or chin,
  12. Wait patiently for a reaction if at all
  13. Monkey around - Be the Joker, horse, warrior, train, whatever helps the child’s imagination
