Old Head on Young Shoulders - Many ways to grey
Last evening had friends over for drinks and dinner.
A Dramatist, Football player and
A Spokesperson for a National Political Party, and
An Ex Banker who is an avid Sports Enthusiast and Collector and Connoisseur of Bollywood Old Hindi songs of the Black and White Era.
I was so privileged to be in the company of varied and acomplished friends.
Soon, they shared their knowledge of Ramayana, Mahabharata, Astrology, Philosophy and Poetry. What an insightful Saturday Evening.
And now, another very accomplished young friend just shared this quotation:
People tend to get wealthier as they get older, which is like everything becoming cheaper as you age.
But time just gets more and more expensive. We start out as Time fat cats and end up in Time poverty.
So the older you get, the more it makes sense to spend money to save time.
He got me thinking with his comments:
“Such a brilliant observation.
Take a moment to think about it in terms of money and age progression intertwined”
My immediate thoughts are as under: (Would love to hear your thoughts on same)
What needs to be understood, is that as we grow older, while there is no guarantee of gaining monetary wealth one is supposed to be surely wiser.
Once you are wise, you certainly know the ways to better utilize your time such as but not limited to:
1. Spend quality time with family and friends. Meaning drop and prune your list to only deserving people
2. No more participation in any kind of rat race
3. Pursuit of inner peace and harmony
4. No idle gossip
5. Eat less, sleep more
6. Enjoy long walks, solitude and companionship
7. Pick up a new hobby if not pursue an old neglected one
8. Generally get into the Giving and Sharing mode
